Michaël Reinhold (b. 1990) is a Swiss-French artist of Tunisian origin, currently based in Berlin. His artistic practice spans a variety of mediums, including performance, film, video, writing and painting. Reinhold holds a BA in Fine Arts from the Zurich University of the Arts and is pursuing an MFA in Art and Media at the Berlin University of the Arts, with a focus on Experimental and Narrative Film.
Reinhold's boundary-pushing works delve into the intricate intersections of identity, liminality, and masculine fragility. His performances and characters with an ever-evolving cast of alter egos, invite audiences to question societal norms, challenge preconceptions, and engage in thought-provoking dialogues about selfhood, and the roles individuals navigate within contemporary society. By merging deeply personal narratives with cultural critique, Reinhold creates collective experiences that not only encourage profound introspection but also to reimagine what the world could be.
His work has been featured at the Kunstverein Friedrichshafen, Tokyo Image Forum Festival, Run Run Shawn Creative Center (Hong Kong), Superblue Miami, among others. He is represented by the Art Foundation of the Zeppelin Museum and in several private collections in Switzerland and France.
Michaël Reinhold is currently trying to sleep in Berlin, Los Angeles and Alsace.
